About Impact4Deaf

Breaking barriers through advocacy, inclusion, and lived experience.

Empowering Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals through community support, awareness, equality, and accessible opportunities.

My Journey

I’m deaf and have spent my life breaking barriers—on the rugby pitch, in the community, and through advocacy.

For more than 30 years, I played rugby with hearing teams and proudly represented England Deaf, proving that determination, resilience, and teamwork know no limits.

My experiences have shaped my passion for inclusion, equality, and empowering Deaf individuals to thrive with confidence and opportunity.

Breaking Barriers Through Sport

Rugby played a major role in shaping my confidence, resilience, and determination.

Playing alongside hearing teams for over three decades—and representing England Deaf—showed me the importance of teamwork, communication, and inclusion.

These experiences taught me that barriers can be challenged and overcome when people are given equal opportunities and support.

Determination and teamwork know no limits.

Supporting the Deaf Community

Over the years, I’ve worked with organisations including Friends for Young Deaf (FYD), the British Deaf Association (BDA), the Jewish Deaf Association (JDA), and Disability in Camden (DISC).

Through these experiences, I’ve supported Deaf individuals, strengthened community connections, and advocated for greater accessibility and inclusion.

Founding Impact4Deaf

In 2002, I founded Impact4Deaf with a clear mission: to empower the Deaf community and champion equal opportunities for all.

What began as a sole trader project is now evolving into a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), expanding its reach to create meaningful and lasting impact.

Impact4Deaf exists to improve accessibility, raise awareness, reduce isolation, and support Deaf individuals in living confidently and independently.

Inclusion

Creating accessible opportunities and ensuring Deaf individuals feel valued and included.

Empowerment

Supporting people to build confidence, independence, and personal growth.

Equality

Advocating for equal access, understanding, and opportunities for all.

Why This Matters

Everyone deserves equal access to services, communication, and opportunities.

Many barriers faced by Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals are caused by a lack of accessibility and awareness—not by hearing loss itself.

Impact4Deaf works to create a more inclusive society where Deaf individuals can thrive with dignity, confidence, and support.
